Description:: To try to add a historical perspective to the Ladybank issue I have obtained an August 1980 photo of the junction which is at the root of all this recent debate. This view is looking south from the Ladybank North Signal Box and shows a crossover in place which meant trains from the branch had access to both platforms. Perhaps the Itinnerant PW Engineer can advise if he has ever seen a double crossing done in a shorter distance, and on canted track? The image is (C) the late Alec Wilson / Iain AH Smith Collection
